This week’s Tech Talk is: Higher-Order Thinking with SRS (Clickers)
A big thank you to Emily Socha for preparing a presentation for this week’s Tech Talk! Emily went to a presentation at the TIES conference that stressed the importance of creating higher-order thinking types of questions when giving students clicker tests/quizzes. Here is the SmartNotebook presentation – HigherOrderThinkingClickers.pdf
Most of us have probably heard A LOT about Bloom’s Taxonomy over our teaching years. It is always nice to have a little reminder about the importance of designing questions to help our students achieve those higher level skills. Here is a great resource about how one person aligned technology to Bloom’s – http://www.techlearning.com/article/8670. Here is another great resource – http://edorigami.wikispaces.com/Bloom’s+Digital+Taxonomy.
If you have any other questions, please let me know! Have a great week!
This week we practiced setting up and using the Senteo clickers with the SmartBoard. There are several tutorials on the Smart website that will guide you through the set-up and administration of assessments. The website is – http://smarttech.com/trainingcenter/material.asp. Once you get there, click on SMART Response & SMART Response LE to see the tutorials. If you need additional help in setting this up, please do not hesitate to contact me! (You may need to helpdesk the Senteo software if you do not have it.)
In addition – here are some March resources that may be helpful. Given the topics, there wasn’t a whole lot out there…but maybe these will help!
March 4th – Casimir Pulaski Day
March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day
March 17th – The Great Hunger in Ireland
March 21st – 1st Day of Spring
